The Ultimate Capstone Program
Machal isn’t just another summer—it’s a one-of-a-kind outdoor adventure experience for campers who will be going into 10th grade. Whether it’s your first summer at Moshava Alevy or a continuation of your camp journey, our Machal program is designed to push our campers and provide them with unique experiences that build independence, foster friendships, and develop leadership skills while creating unforgettable memories that make the summer feel truly special.
The Bridge to Leadership
This summer marks a profound transition. Machal is where campers shift from being participants to becoming leaders. After this transformative program, they’ll embark on their Israel summer and ultimately return to Moshava Alevy as Madrichim (counselors), ready to guide the next generation. The journey of leadership starts here.
Our Weekly Off-Site Treks
Whether it’s mountain biking in Big Bear, white water rafting in Northern California, deep sea fishing in Santa Barbara, or rappelling in Utah, Machal spends the week camping off-site and traveling to a variety of outdoor adventure experiences that challenge and inspire our participants. After a week of exploration, bonding, and growth, Machal returns to camp filled with stories and memories that are eager to share with the broader Machane.
Shabbat Back At Camp
Each Friday, Machal returns to the Machaneh (main camp) for a ruach filled Shabbat. Whether singing and dancing with extra enthusiasm or leading special programs, Machal campers become role models for our younger campers. This weekly rhythm—of departure and return—roots their adventure in the heart of our Moshava family and gives our Machal campers a renewed energy for the adventure that lies ahead.
Rugged Independence
Growth is forged through challenge. By “roughing it”—managing travel logistics, cooking outdoors, and navigating together—Machal campers build unparalleled resilience and a powerful sense of Chavurah (fellowship). This isn’t comfort-zone camping; it’s a journey that forges character, independence, and bonds that last a lifetime.

Description: Machal stands for Machane Chalutzi, a pioneering camp and the capstone program for our oldest campers. Machal focuses on leadership development, with hiking, sleeping outdoors, trips, and bonding in the wilderness, and of course - having fun! A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience!
